    Muqarnas and the Palace of the Lions

    I will examine the muqarnas in the Palace of the Lions in the Alhambra Palace Complex. It will detail the history of the use of muquarnas, including where they came from, the different types, and the materials used.   It will discuss their possible symbolic representation, as well as defining their geometry and radial symmetry. Lastly, this paper will compare the use of muqarnas in the Alhambra to other examples in Al-Andalus.
